The final deliverable includes a color-coded summary that clearly defines the current status of the facility, policies, procedures, and staff across multiple categories. The coding is based on the following criteria:
GREEN – The current security framework is generally acceptable by industry standards, demonstrated by effective and proper use of health and safety techniques, environmental controls, physical site improvements, and well-defined health and safety plans.
YELLOW – The current security framework presents minor or elevated issues that could jeopardize liability limitations, hinder risk management, or affect contract stability. Examples may include compliance issues, potential safety hazards, observational training deficiencies, improper use of equipment, and incomplete or inadequate safety plans.
RED – The current security framework reveals severe issues that could significantly impact liability, be deemed dangerous or negligent, or compromise the safety or security of individuals or property. Examples include the absence of formalized policies or procedures, lack of contingency planning, minimal training, insufficient emergency preparedness, and clearly visible safety hazards.
Immediate value is realized through reduced risk or liability, decreased material losses, less excessive labor, maximized efficiency, and potential reductions in general liability and workers’ compensation insurance premiums. Indirect value is gained by preventing injuries or property damage from incidents that could incur costs in the tens of millions of dollars.
